Welcome to my brand new blog, hosted by the wondrous Team Vox. If you’ve stumbled here by adventure or mistake, then perhaps some explanations are in order.
My name, as I’m sure you can see from the banner above, is Jane Bradley, and I’m a writer living in London. My main love is fiction, but I do a few bits of freelance journalism here and there too. I have a day job that keeps me busy, and in the evenings I bury myself in duvets and beaver away at my laptop. I drink far too much tea and I make a mean lemon cheesecake. I have a penchant for sleazy eighties rock and fifties frocks.
This blog is going to be something of an experiment. As well as using it in the usual fashion of a personal journal, I’m also hoping to use it to promote my current projects, and as an archive of my previously published work. Somewhere I can direct interested parties (ladies and gents please, form an orderly queue) if I want to show off, or just keep people posted about what I’m up to.
Inevitably, this will entail a fair amount of shameless self-whoring. Personally I think there’s no place more appropriate than on a personal blog, but if that ain’t your bag then this might not be for you. And it’s going to be a work in progress, so please be patient with me in these first few days. Let’s have no heckling from the cheap seats at the back.
Hopefully all this doesn’t sound too pretentious. I’m just a stickler for formal introductions. I’m sure we’ll relax around each other as time goes by. Before you know it we’ll be the best of friends; causing chaos, behaving badly and dancing on tabletops. Metaphorically speaking, of course.
I hope you’re happy here.
More content to come in the next couple of days.
